On February 14, 2024, Canadians Christina Lustenberger, Mark Herbison, and Joshua Lavigne skied the south couloir of Mt. Sir Sandford (3,519m), the highest peak of the Selkirk Mountains. After flying to a base camp at the foot of the mountain, the trio climbed to the top and skied down the 1,100m, 45°–50° couloir, with one 30m rappel at a choke. The narrow couloir is on the far left side of the south face; the main south face was skied in February 2012 by Troy Jungen, Rob Martin, and Doug Sproul.

In March 2023, on their second attempt, Lustenberger and Andrew McNab made the first known descent of the southwest couloir of Mt. Niflheim (2,871m) in British Columbia’s Monashee Mountains.
