Asia, Nepal, Pumori, Lobuje East and Kwangde Shar, 1990

Publication Year: 1993.

Lobuje East and Kwangde Shar, 1990. Micha Miller and I climbed Lobuje East on the Bibler-Freer route on the east ridge (5.9, Al) on mostly solid rock, before we merged with the normal route. We did the climb alpine-style in five days. We also climbed the classic northeast buttress on Kwangde Shar, the perfect ridge seen from Namche dropping directly from the summit. We took five days to climb some 35 pitches (4 to 5.8). We descended into the remote Lumding valley, which added to the adventure.
