A.A.C., Rocky Mountain Section
A.A.C., Rocky Mountain Section. Since Dave Roberts gave a program concerning his ascent of Mount Huntington, there have been two meetings of the section. One was held in May, at which Professor Harold F. Walton spoke on climbs in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru and showed slides from five expeditions. At this meeting, the chairman, Andy Black, stated he felt that someone else should take a term as chairman, and the undersigned was elected. The next meeting was in November at Boulder, Colorado, in honor of President Clinch, who reported on the activities of the Club, and showed the movies of the first ascent of the highest peaks of Antarctica. The dinner was attended by 30 of the 48 members of the section from Colorado, and there were over 40 guests. After the dinner, a substantial number of invited guests came in to see the film. At the meeting, it was voted that the Annual Meeting of the A.A.C. on December 6, 1969, which the Council had decided to hold in Colorado, will take place at the Harvest House in Boulder, which is about 20 minutes from Denver. It was agreed that Professor Harold Walton would be general chairman of the meeting. He has already started selecting committees to help with the Annual Meeting. Dave Roberts spent the summer of 1968 in the Wind Rivers, the Bugaboos, and the Brooks Range in Alaska; and we hope that he will talk on these climbs at our next meeting.
