Aconcagua. The highest summit on the Western Hemisphere was reached by two different parties on the same day. On March 8th, an Italian party consisting of Paolo and Stefano Ceresa, Piero Ghiglione, Renato Chabod, Mario Pasten, and Nicola Plantamura of the Argentine survey made the ascent by the usual route. A Polish party consisting of S. Daszynski. K. Markiewicz, S. Osiecki, and W. Ostrowski reached the top by a new route from the northeast.
