Chaukhamba. Colonel Amit C. Roy of the Corps of Signals, Indian Army, led a successful ascent of Chaukhamba (7138 meters, 23,420 feet) from the northeast. Captains Sanjeev Singh, Nandeem Arshad and Vipin Verma, Lance Naik M. Ayoub Sofi, Nima Norbu, Makalu, Bibhujit Mukhoti and Shyamal Sarkar got to the summit on June 14. On June 17, Captains J.K. Jha, V. Dogra and S.P. Sira, Havaldars Umed Singh and R.S. Yadev, Lance Naik Jarnail Sing and Signalman C.S. Champawat also climbed to the summit.
