Chandra Parbat. Our team established Base Camp at Vasuki Tal at 16,075 feet on September 17 and Advance Base at 16,800 feet after crossing the Sundar Bamak on September 19. Bikash Chandra Sayal, Miss Ila Mondal and I established Camp I at 18,700 feet on the Suralaya Bamak on the 22nd. Camp II was placed at 19,690 feet on the 24th. I decided to move south to gain the south ridge of Chandra Parbat which seemed safer. With high-altitude porter Badar Singh, I established Camp III at 20,670 feet on September 25 after climbing continuously for 8½ hours in heavy snowfall. The next morning we left for the summit with knee-deep snow. A 150-foot rope was fixed on the last pitch. At 11:10 we were on the summit (6778 meters, 22,073 feet).
