The 2024 season at the Mohonk Preserve saw numerous climbing-related incidents that resulted in various musculoskeletal injuries. There were eight lead climbing incidents, four bouldering accidents, and one environmental incident that the Mohonk SAR rangers responded to. (The environmental incident was a climber who sustained a copperhead snakebite.) Throughout the course of 2024, the Mohonk Preserve rangers conducted several preventive search and rescue (PSAR) clinics to help people understand and prepare for the various conditions they might encounter.
