On July 8, Jedrzej Jablonski (Poland) and Christian Junkar (USA) climbed a route up the southwest face of Aguja Nevada I (5,840m), reaching the plateau below the summit. The climbing began at 5,100m and consisted of 12 pitches of ice, mixed, and steep snow, exiting the face by a weakness in the middle of the ice cliff that spans the top. After 13 hours of climbing, they ended the climb at about 5,700m and descended to the east with some rappels. They estimated they were several pitches below the summit. The route was called Un Hilo de Stilo (“A Thread of Style,” TD+ AI4 M4 80°).
