Ondra Macek and I attempted a new route on the right side of the 1,300m west face of Grosvenor (a.k.a. Riwuqie Feng, 6,376m). We left our advanced base below the wall on September 27 and climbed eight pitches up to AI4/5 (80–90°), reaching an altitude of about 5,600m before retreating in a snowstorm. We lost our ropes on the last rappel when they became irretrievably stuck under the snow. A short video can be seen here:
