Brabant Island, Peaks Southeast of Mt. Parry

Antarctica, Antarctic Peninsula
Author: Lindsay Griffin. Climb Year: 2016. Publication Year: 2017.

In December, a ski mountaineering party led by Bruce Goodlad (U.K.) was dropped off at Tarrada Point on Brabant Island. They skied up to a base camp in front of Mt. Parry (2,520m). The following day, with 50-knot winds over the summits, they skied a 1,983m peak to the south of Parry, at 64°16’59”S, 62°24’42.8”W. On the 3rd they skied an attractive mountain southeast of Parry (ca 1,000m, 64°20’19.4”S, 62°21’11.9”W), which had a beautiful summit snow crest. It is not clear whether these two peaks had been ascended before—the only party that could have done so would have been the 1984-85 British Joint Services Expedition, which skied past this group.
