On January 10, 2016, Argentine climbers Lissandro Arelovich and Glauco Muratti ascended an unclimbed 4,905m peak above Quebrada Potrero Escondido. They departed on January 7 from Punta de Vacas, making three camps west of the peak before beginning their climb up the east side. Their route started with 150m of 50° snow up a gully, with plenty of rockfall, and then they climbed poor quality rock to reach the summit (III). They named the peak Cerro Tito after Alfredo "Tito" Magnani, a pioneering Argentine mountaineer who died in 2011.
