In mid-April, Adam Burch and I teamed up to finish a route I had started on Lower Tokopah Dome in 2014. Below-average precipitation during the winter allowed us to complete the approach without encountering any snow. The climbing itself was fun and had plenty of chicken heads. Some were big enough that we used them to stack the rope at belay stances. The climb starts between Boardwalk Chimney and Welcome to Walmart on the southwest face of the dome (AAJ 2015). The four pitches have fun face climbing and a few roofs to navigate: Mango Lassi LULZ Machine (620’, III 5.10+). We descended west into a gully between Lower Tokopah Dome and Santa Cruz Dome. This route is a great addition to an area with several already established gems.
