On August 6, Joanne Mauthner, Jeffrey Bury, and I climbed a new route on the east face of Sharkshead Tower in the Leaning Tower Group. We climbed glacial ice to gain the rock, and from there it was six 30m pitches to the north summit. The hardest pitch was 5.9, and all the climbing was on very clean, fun, and solid granite. From the north summit we traversed to the higher south summit, then descended by rappelling the gully down the east face, which separates the two summits. We accessed the tower out of Dewar Creek.
