Orlando Lopez, Fabian Londono, and I hoped to free climb the complete route Osa Ma Non Troppo (700m, 7b A2/A3, AAJ 2007), established by Italians Michell Cagol, Rolando Larcher, Fabio Leoni, and Elio Orlandi. The route is located just left of Cota 2000’s central pillar, on the east face.

We began climbing capsule style on January 29, 2015. Once on the wall we attempted to redpoint each pitch. Our main camp was atop the seventh pitch, where we spent six nights in all.Because there are no ledges, and therefore no snow to melt, we got a really good workout hauling almost 30L of water!

We did not succeed in our original free climbing plan due to a couple of minor injuries. However, we did free climb up to 5.12 and complete the second ascent of the route, reaching the summit on February 4.The rock was nearly always fantastic, allowing for unreal and sustained free climbing. At this point we believe all but the third pitch could go free.
