Miandi Peak, correction.
In AAJ 2008 we published a report from Pat Deavoll on the presumed first ascent of Peak 6,465m, a mountain she climbed from the west and later named Miandi Peak, as it sits above Miandi (or Maiandi) Bamak (Glacier). However, while the route was probably new, the mountain had been climbed at least once before.
Peak 6,465m was climbed on September 21, 1987, by an expedition from The London Hospital (UK), which entered the Swachand Bamak and established Camp 2 at 5,870m on the north face. From here John Sanders and Richard Stradling climbed to the summit. There were no major difficulties but interesting mixed climbing between 6,000 and 6,200m.
