It was slightly quieter in the Sentinel Range than in past seasons, with 111 different climbers ascending Mt. Vinson (4,892m). During the 2013–14 season only five climbers ascended Mt. Shinn (4,660m).

A historical note on Shinn: Although it was reported correctly in AAJ 1986, Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins’ route on the big west face of Shinn has since been mistakenly placed on the south face. This means that Austrian Christian Stangl’s 2008 ascent of the south face, as part of his Triple Seven Summits project, was probably an entirely new route.
