The Mid-Atlantic Section participated in the AAC’s 2012 membership drive at two New Jersey climbing gyms. Michael Feldman manned a table at the Gravity Vault in Chatham, while Barry Rusnock greeted climbers at the New Jersey Rock Gym in Fairfield. Because of Michael and Barry’s efforts, the section added 10 new members that evening.

Members gathered August 4 for a day of multi-pitch climbing at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreational Area, along with Simon Carr, Blue Ridge Section Chair. We gathered afterward at the Deer Head Inn for cocktails, followed by a Haitian dinner at the Zen Safari in Delaware Water Gap. On October 6 the section hosted its Second Annual Allamuchy Top Rope Social and Oktoberfest Dinner. The Top Rope Social was held at the Main Wall crag in Allamuchy Mountain State Park, New Jersey, some 50 miles west of New York City, where climbers challenged themselves on many crag classics. About 15 members then attended the Oktoberfest Dinner at the well-known Black Forest Inn in nearby Stanhope.
