Fall on Rock, Attempt to Clip Bolt - Inadequate Protection, Exceeding Abilities

On June 16 a man (48) started to climb a sport route called I Banged my ***** Knee. When he got about eight feet off the ground and was attempting to clip the first bolt, he fell and impacted the ground. His fractured his right tibia and fibula. Muir Valley Rescue was called from a nearby emergency-station radio. Volunteers, including three paramedics, responded in about three minutes. The patient was treated, packaged, and transported to an ambulance that was waiting on the Muir Emergency Road.
Analysis
