On July 10 an inexperienced climber seconding the First Flatiron injured his ankle while being belayed and could not move. The leader did not have sufficient equipment to effect self-rescue. Analysis

Because of the Flatirons’ proximity to Boulder and the road, there are frequent incidents of this type. While in many of these incidents the individuals are not really climbers, we have no choice but to count them. (Source: Aram Attarian.)
