Ojos del Salado (6,893m) is the highest volcano on Earth and the second highest summit in South America. Pissis (6,800m, unofficially) is the second highest volcano on Earth, and the third highest summit on the continent. Basques Jabi Txikon and Arkaitz Ibarra linked both summits in an astonishing 240km traverse, between January 22 and January 31, 2013. Unfortunately, both received some frostbite.

Ojos Del Salado (6,893m), the highest volcano in the world, covered in fresh snow during the Basques’ massive traverse. The climbing was primarily nontechnical, but the team covered over 200km in eight days and tagged five summits over 6,000m, including a new route on El Fraile.
