British Columbia, Squamish, Lower Malamute area

On August 6, a 23-year-old male from the United States fell while rock climbing in an area known as the Lower Malamute. He narrowly missed hitting the railroad tracks when he fell. He was transported to the Squamish Hospital assisted by employees of BC Rail with possible back injuries. Analysis

This is the second incident of this type in the last few weeks where a climber has fallen in the same area. The RCMP and BC Rail would like to remind the public that this area is on BC Rail property and it is illegal and unsafe to be in this area climbing or for any other reason.
