SLIP ON ROCK, CLIMBING UNROPED

Alberta, Rocky Mountains, Mt. Andromeda

On July 21, 1979, after climbing Mt. Andromeda via the Skyladder, Slawomir Lobdozinski and Jennifer Smith (ages unknown) of Edmonton were descending a gully into the Androm- eda-Athabasca col. Smith lost her footing and fell approximately 300 feet over loose rock and landed on a 30-degree snow slope. She received a broken tibia and lacerations on the head. The party was travelling unroped.
