Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park (2)—On July 11, 1956 Felix Knauth (26), Carol Rudnick (23) and Sylvia Kenshaw (32) had made an attempt to reach the summit of Mt. Owen, but did not complete the ascent and began their return to base camp. Felix Knauth (party leader) had glissaded down the snow field and was waiting for the two girls to follow him. Miss Rudnick lost control of her glissade and slid over a rock outcropping. The injuries included a severe cut over the left eye, and multiple scratches and bruises. She was evacuated to Amphitheater Lake by the other members of the party and two other climbers in the area. The Park rescue team completed the evacuation from Amphitheater Lake by horse.
