lorana I and Iorana II, first ascents. Andy Parkin and I made the first ascents of two peaks at the head of Sena Pia in the Cordillera Darwin, after a drop-off from the yacht lorana on March 6. We approached the peaks by crossing glaciers and climbing through beech forests and snow-covered rock slabs to an ABC at 1,300m. We followed a ridge and glacier, and broke through serac bands, in climbing the south face of the smaller peak to access the southeast ridge of the higher one. Overall alpine grade AD. We named the peaks lorana I (2,340m) and II (2,075m), reaching the summits on the 8th and getting picked up on the 9th.
