The Stump, Choss-o-Licious. In a 17-hour round-trip from base camp on May 30 and 31, Joe Johnson, Steven Lucarelli, and I established this incredibly fine, choss-infested route. It basically starts on the southeast buttress of The Stump, atop a large scree slope to the left of black water streaks coming off the Wisdom Tooth, and 100 yards east of Game Boy. Our 10-pitch route consisted of several easy ascending traverses, a few good lines of beautiful solid rock, and a couple of difficult pitches made of choss.
