South Chasm View Wall, Dry Rubbed. In May Mike Pennings and I dropped into the South Chasm View Wall after hunting for a cup of coffee and bacon in Montrose. We were fired up for a new line we had eyed from the north side over the years.

Considering our late start, we were happy to make it back to the rim by dusk. The route climbs about 1,200', taking a line to the right of the Kor-Dalke and to the left of the Falcon Wall. The most significant features are a series of tiered roofs that angle up and right, looking more like waves than 90° roofs. We encountered serious climbing up to 5.11+. We named the route Dry Rubbed after the brand of bacon we found. Warning: some loose rocks encountered.
