Chockstone Peak, Beggars Can’t Be Choosers. In mid-August, Elisif Harro and I completed a nine-pitch route, Beggars Can’t Be Choosers (1,800', III+ 5.9+), up the north ridge to the west face of Chockstone Peak in the Sawtooth. The route features good rock and good protection. It begins at the lowest point of the granite dome that lays against Chockstone Peak, and the first five pitches of the route ascend this dome. From the top of the dome scramble around to the west face of the upper tower and the obvious ski-track hand cracks. Follow these up the west face to the summit.
