North America, Greenland, Pamiagdluk Island, Dinas Not, The Jams, the Jams; Dinas Not, Niviarsiaraq Qaamasunik Nujalit

Publication Year: 2007.

Pamiagdluk Island, Dinas Not, The Jams, the Jams; Dinas Not, Niviarsiaraq Qaamasunik Nujalit. In 2005 we repeated routes on the 1,340m Baron and added two new routes to Dinas Not, a 100- 110m crag on the slopes below the Baron, closer to the fjord. Prior to our visit Dinas Not had just one route, Life of Riley, climbed in 2004 (100m, two pitches, British E2 5c, Tim Riley-Louise Wilkinson). We climbed toward the left side of the face. On July 1 we created The Jams, the Jams (110m, British E2 5b) and returned on the 27th to climb an independent second pitch up the big corner to the left, which we named Niviarsiaraq Qaamasunik Nujalit (the Golden Haired Girl, E2 5c). We also repeated some of the 2004 British routes on the lower Southeast Face of the Baronet, which we found to be of excellent quality. However, we witnessed a huge rockfall down the big gully that lies between 21st Century Arctic Fox and The Cams! The Cams! We believe the lower section of the latter route, put up in 2004 by Leanne Callaghan and Glenda Huxter (300m, seven pitches, E2 5c), may have suffered terminal damage.
