Dak Tower, Flowers for Blaise, and Mt. McArthur, Some Kind of Monster. Between spells of consistently bad weather, Joe Josephson (Bozeman, MT) and David Dornian (Calgary, AB) climbed two new routes in the Mt. Logan area between May 29 and June 3. On Dak Tower, they established Flowers for Blaise (4,500') in a 27-hour round-trip from camp. After two days’ rest, they took 38 hours from camp to climb the 6,000'-vertical north face of Mt. McArthur, their Some Kind of Monster offering sustained calves-of-steel ice the entire way. See Josephson’s feature article in this Journal.
