Adela Group, Cerro Grande. In the Fitz Roy Range, in November, Italian Luca Maspes made two solo attempts on Techado Negro (located at the southern end of the Fitz Roy group) climbing 300m of mixed ground and bad rock. On December 5, Maspes and Marcello Cominetti, also from Italy, climbed a new route on the south face of Cerro Grande (2,751m), joining the East Ridge route, from which they retreated, some 200m below the summit. They climbed in alpine style, starting from Paso del Viento; their line ascends the south-southeast face, to the right of Ferrari route, with ice and mixed up to 75°.
