Red Arch Mountain, Wigs In Space. In March, James Garrett, Chris Eng and I climbed a new route on Red Arch Mountain called Wigs In Space (IV 5.9 Al/Cl, nine pitches). The route climbs a flat-faced pillar on the southwest buttress of Red Arch Mountain. Begin 100 feet left of Bits and Pieces. The rack is highly specialized and required several high fashion wigs. The first ascent was made with less than eight piton placements; the route was freed several months later at 5.11 by Cameron Tague and Jeff Hollenbaugh.
