La Esfinge, East Face, Free Ascent. Ralph Ferrara and John Reyner freed the 1985 route on the east face of La Esfinge on August 14-15. They had attempted the route in June, managing four pitches. It is possibly the second free ascent of the route; Julio Fernández, Guillermo Mejía and David Rodríguez made what was perhaps the first, fixing four pitches, then climbing the route on October 2-3, 1997. Fernández led the more difficult pitches (up to 5.11c), and his companions jumared. J. Boyer and A. Bozzy may have climbed that route free in July, 1995, but further details are lacking.
