Moab Area, Various Ascents. Kevin Chase, Tom Gilje, and Tait Rees made the first ascent of the lone tower located on the north side of Heat Wave Buttress via the route Spitting Cobra (5.12 AO). This is located off State Highway 313, nine miles north of Moab.

In Kane Creek, Bounce Test (five pitches, III 5.7) was established by Andy Roberts, Jason Schroeder and Liz Devaney in April. Upper pitches were added by Andy Roberts and Jason Hodgeman. The route is located right of the famous mastodon petrograph high above the Colorado River just beyond Moonflower Canyon. Half a mile south of the Happy Turk in Kane Creek, Cameron Bums and Jesse Harvey climbed a 200-foot tower named Shelbyville via Mr. Putterman Goes to Washington (II 5.9 A1). Approximately eight miles south of Moab is the popular Kens Lake. Just south, a dirt road approaches the Wingate cliffs prominent to the east. In April, Linus Platt, John Rzyczecki and Brad Bond climbed Old Dad Spire, putting up Old and In The Way (5.10c A0, 190').
