Quarry’s South Peak, New Route. Although the best line on the rounded east face had been done years ago by Alan Bartlett, I thought that there were still some unclimbed lines. Philip Karl, Steve Hyde, and I made the long hike to Matterhorn Canyon, then settled on the east face of Quarry’s South Peak. The route (Grade III, about 11 pitches) was broken by numerous ledges, but provided some good climbing up to 5.10. The rock could not have been better.
