Comment: The Third Edition is roughly 200 pages fatter than the last (1989) and incorporates some of the latest firsts from such local heros as Pat Purcell, Pat Munn, Tad Welch, Tim Beaman. One of the chief pleasures of the book is Mellor’s easy writing style. Only criticism: a pity the photos, though more numerous, are no better in quality than the 1989 edition. (JT)
