Bublimotin Attempts and Ascents. Five other teams were reported to have attempted Bublimotin (6000 meters) last year. An Australian team of Damien Gildea and Mark Nayar attempted it in late August, reaching 4700 meters. An Australian/New Zealand team and a team of Italians were also unsuccessful. A German father-and-son team unsuccessfully attempted the Original Route via the couloir on the east side. A Japanese team sieged the front face of the spire, following a line to the left of the Beyer route. Three climbers reached the summit. (High Mountain Sports 157)
