Shivling Ascents. It was reported that the husband-and-wife team of Stevie Haston and Laurence Gouault ascended the Original Route of Shivling in one and a half days from basecamp. Other ascensionists were Ed Douglas, Tom Prentice, and three Czechs. On the west side of the peak Martin Crook and Nick Walton climbed a 25-pitch route in a long day. They named their route Shiva’s Ridge and graded it Alpine D with a crux of French 5. (High Mountain Sports 162)
