Mana Northwest, Southwest Ridge. An Indo-Japanese Expedition (Indo-Tibet Border Police and Himalayan Association of Japan), led by S. D. Sharma and Hideyuki Uematsu, climbed Mana Northwest (7092m) in August. Summit was reached on August 18 and August 20 from the south-west ridge by S.D. Sharma, Prem Singh, T. Samnla, Kulwant Singh, (Indians), Tomoyas Ishikawa and H. Uermatsu (Japanese). The expedition started from Delhi on July 24. They approached from Badrinath and Mana villages. On August 18 two Indians and two Japanese mountaineers reached the summit of this virgin peak from the southwest ridge. On August 20 two more climbers reached the summit.
