Gyagar, Southwest Ridge. An expedition of the Dogra Regiment, Indian Army, led by Lt Col. Haripal Singh Dhillon, climbed to the summit of Gyagar (6400 meters) on August 28 via the Southwest Ridge. Summitters were Hav. Lalit Negi, Subedar Devi Singh, Sub. Lekh Raj, Hav. Mohan Lal, Hav. Daya Ram, L./Nk Mohinder, L/Nk. Prema and L/Nk. Cherring Bodh. The route was two kilometers long and a mix of snow and gravel. The team used crampons in parts and fixed 17 ropes.
