10 Alpine Faces Solo in 15 Days. Over a 10-day period in April, Frenchman Jean-Christophe Lafaille linked 10 classic alpine faces, climbing solo and moving between each on ski or foot. A chronology of the faces ascendedfollows. April 4: the Lauper Route on the Northeast Face of the Eiger and the North Face of the Monch; April 6: North Face of the Alteschorn; April 7: North Face of the Nesthorn; April 10: Marinelli Couloir on the East Face of Monte Rosa; April 12: Schmid Route on the the North Face of the Matterhorn; April 14: North Face of the Breithorn; April 16: North Face of Mont Blanc de Cheilon; April 18: North Couloir of the Col de L’Aiguille Verte; April 19: the Shroud on the Grandes Jorasses.
