Pico Tas Cupís, First Ascent. Pico Tas Cupís, an unclimbed rock tower (440 meters) situated in the central district of the Sierra de la Culata, was discovered by our group of young climbers. It belongs to the Mina de Hierro massif, located near the town of Mucuruba. After a first attempt three weeks earlier, we tackled the steep south face. On January 13, the summit was reached by Ramón Jáuregui, Leonard de Jesús, Edouard Márquez, Oscar Sánchez, Ramiro Silva and myself.
