Rocky Mountain National Park: The Climbers Guide

Publication Year: 1995.

Rocky Mountain National Park: The Climbers Guide. Bernard Gillet. Earth- bound Press, 1993. 271 pages, black-and-white photos, maps and diagrams. $21.95.

Comment: This guide covers the most popular climbing areas in Rocky Mountain National Park as well as the Estes Park region, including Lumpy Ridge. It excludes the more remote areas of the park, such as the Mummy Range and the western half of the park. It is user friendly. Each route in the guide is given a photo description, a topo and some literal description, making for easily understood directions and a minimum of getting lost. Many of the photos are exceptionally lame and the comics should have been thrown in the trash at editing.
