Yuzhu. Qinghai. Our expedition was composed of Yoshihide Higami, Kazuo Yamagishi, Kiyo Yamagishi, Anji Moriyama, Hideo Tobe and me as leader. Our average age was 48 years. On July 28, we arrived from Golmud at Base Camp at 5060 meters on the banks of the Yuzhu River. On August 2, Camp I was placed on the glacier at 5370 meters, below the southwest flank of the mountain. On the 3rd, all members climbed to the summit (6179 meters, 20,273 feet). The steepest part of the climb was between the first and second ridges above Camp I.
