Ascents in the CB Group. Seven Japanese led by Kazuo Oku climbed CB-13 (6264 meters, 20,550 feet) via the north ridge. On August 7 Akira Yokoyama, Miss Kaori Tuji, Makoto Simoto, Takasi Kawanabe and porter Ravi Prakash Negi reached the summit. Other Japanese led by Kazuichi Sato ascended CB-14 (6079 meters, 19,945 feet). Four climbers reached the summit via the northeast ridge on August 15, four more on the 18th and two on the 21 st. Above the Kulti valley, Indians Hari Prasad and Vijay with porters Bahadur and Prakash climbed CB-46 (6006 meters, 19,705 feet; also called Akela Killa) on September 2. CB-54 (6096 meters, 20,000 feet) was climbed on July 20 by Indians leader Naresh Sabharwal, Sekhar Das, Miss Manika Dutta, Sanat K. Ghosh, Sankar Manna and Arun Patti.
