North America, United States, Utah, Streaked Wall, Zion National Park

Streaked Wall, Zion National Park. Paul Gagner and Eric Brand climbed a new route, the third, Latitudes (VI, 5.10, A4), on Zion’s Streaked Wall in early May. It ascends a crack system starting just 50 feet right of Tales of Scorpio. Five mostly free pitches led to the large Rubicon Ledge. In January, they fixed the first two of the remaining overhanging pitches up thin cracks, but it was too cold to continue. When they returned in May, they climbed the rest. According to Gagner, the 13-pitch route is “way overhanging” and took five more days to complete. Also of note was the second ascent of Mug Stumps’ and Conrad Anker's Rodeo Queen on the left side of the Streaked Wall done by a Japanese party.
