New Routes in Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky District, 1992-3. I made the following new routes. In February, 1992, David Lindy and I climbed Thracian Mare, a curving seam on the narrow west face (III, 5.8, A3+); this is in Taylor Canyon next to Moses. In February, 1992, Mike Woods and I climbed Sandcastle, starting up the southwest side to the notch between the island and the spire before continuing up the northern prow (IV, 5.8, A3); located in Buck Canyon, it is the third spire in the Monster Tower Washerwoman Arch area. In April, 1993, Wood, Lindy and I climbed the Cauldrons via a crack system dividing the twin summits on the south face(II, 5.10, Al); this is located in Hell Roaring Canyon between the Witch and the Warlock. In May, 1993, Chris Sircello and I climbed the south face to the notch and then the north face to the top of Outlaw Spire (also known as Hardscrabble Spire; III, 5.10, A3); this is located at the top of Hardscrabble Hill.
