North America, United States, Wyoming, Winter Traverse of Teewinot, Owen and the Grand Teton

Publication Year: 1994.

Winter Traverse of Teewinot, Owen and the Grand Teton. From January 30 to February 2, Gary Wilmot, Greg Collins and I traversed these three peaks. Starting at three A.M., we climbed Teewinot by its southeast ridge and camped in a snow cave on East Prong. On the 31st, we climbed Owen, traversing to the Koven route for the last couple of hundred feet to the summit and descended to the notch between Owen and the Grand Teton. We dug another snow cave on the Grandstand for the night. The next morning we woke to a full storm. February 2 was clear and very cold. We climbed the north ridge to the summit. We descended and were at the roadhead by five P.M.
