Asia, Southeastern China, Anyemaqin Attempt

Publication Year: 1993.

Anyemaqin Attempt. Our expedition was composed of Nobumi Nakazawa, Nobuo Matsumoto, Kuniharu Okawa, Akihito Tujino, Tatsushi Aono and me as leader. On July 28, we set up Base Camp at 4500 meters east of Anyemaqin. Camp I was established on July 30 on the badly crevassed glacier. There was very little snow on the lower part of the east ridge and so we approached it from the north. It was not steep but there was much rockfall. After fixing 700 meters of rope, on August 3 we gave up at 5500 meters because our party was too inexperienced.
