Publication Year: 1993.

“Neverseen Tower” and Other Peaks, Miyar Valley. Italians Massimo Marcheggiani, Leone Di Vincenzo and Alberto Miele completed the first ascent of a bold needle, “Neverseen Tower” (c. 5950 meters, 19,520 feet). The 900-meter-high route was climbed from September 22 to 24 and graded with pitches of VI + and VIII UIAA difficulty. The tower had been attempted in 1991 by a team led by Paolo Vitali. Some days earlier, the three climbed a 5725-meter (18,783-foot) virgin tower (UIAA V). The other two members, Silvano Bianchi and Claudio Mastrinicola, ascended P 6050 (19,849 feet), another unclimbed peak, on 45° to 50° snow and ice.
