Kamet and Abi Gamin. This massif is the goal each year of a number of Indian expeditions trying the normal route. In 1992, Kamet and Abi Gamin were the objectives of at least five parties. One is described below. A group from Durgapur led by Swapan Kumar Ghosh established Base Camp on August 31 and climbed Kamet (7756 meters, 25,447 feet) on September 2 and Abi Gamin (7355 meters, 24,130 feet) on September 3.
